Tip, Tax & Travel Calculator

Privacy policy

How the Tip, Tax & Travel Calculator Android app handles your data — written from how the app actually behaves.

Effective October 18, 2026

Tip, Tax & Travel Calculator is an Android app developed and operated by Antonio Barria ("we", "us", or "our"). The app calculates a tip and tax on a bill and splits the total between people. It has no account and no sign-in, and the numbers you enter are calculated and stored on your device.

This policy explains what stays on your phone, what Google services the app uses, and the choices you have. It applies to the Tip, Tax & Travel Calculator app and this page. The Bluecoins app has its own privacy policy.

Effective date: October 18, 2026.

The short version

  • No account. There is no sign-in, no user profile, and no Tip Calculator server that stores your data.
  • Your calculations stay on your device. Bill amounts, tip and tax percentages, the number of people, and your preferences are stored locally. We do not send them to us or to Google.
  • Ads are provided by Google AdMob. The app is free with a one-day ad-free trial; after that, non-premium users see a banner ad.
  • Analytics and crash reports use Google Firebase. They help us understand how the app is used and fix crashes.
  • We do not sell your personal information.

What stays on your device

The app keeps your last-used values and preferences in its private app storage on your phone: the bill amount, tip and tax percentages, the number of people, whether tip and tax are included, your theme and haptic-feedback choices, the last-used values, and the date the app was first installed (used for the one-day trial).

These values are used only to make the calculator remember how you like it. They are not sent to us, and we do not receive them. They are deleted when you clear the app's storage or uninstall the app.

Android backup

Android's system backup feature may include the app's local data if you have device backup turned on. That backup is handled by Google and stored in your own Google account under your backup settings — not on a server operated by us. You can turn device backup off, or exclude app data, in Android's backup settings.

After the one-day trial ends, non-premium users see a banner ad supplied by Google AdMob. Premium users do not see ads. The banner is requested only when it is about to be displayed — not at first launch, and never for premium users.

Before the first ad is shown, the app uses Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) to ask for your consent where the law requires it, such as in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland. Depending on where you live, the message may also offer choices under US state privacy laws. Your choice is remembered by Google's consent system, and you can change it at any time in Settings → Ad privacy options.

Google and its advertising partners may collect and use information such as your Advertising ID, IP address, device and app information, approximate location derived from your IP address, ad impressions and interactions, and diagnostic information. They use it to serve and measure ads, to personalize ads where you have consented (or where your settings allow it), and to prevent fraud and abuse. We do not receive your name, email address, or contact details from Google; the ad reports we see are aggregate.

If you decline personalized advertising, you may still see non-personalized ads. Google may still use limited information for purposes such as frequency capping, fraud prevention, and ad measurement. You can reset or delete your Advertising ID and opt out of personalized advertising in Android Settings → Google → Ads. You can also review Google's Privacy Policy and how Google uses information from sites and apps.

Analytics and crash reports

We use Google Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics to understand how the app is used and to keep it stable. Google processes this data on our behalf under Google's privacy practices; we do not store it on our own servers.

  • Firebase Analytics records app opens, screen views (for example the calculator, settings, and country guide), the premium purchase event, an app-instance identifier, and device and app metadata such as device model, operating-system version, app version, language, and approximate location derived from your IP address. It does not receive the bill amounts, percentages, or names you enter.
  • Firebase Crashlytics records crash logs and stack traces, the state of the device at the time of a crash, the operating-system and app version, and installation identifiers, so we can diagnose and fix stability problems.

Purchases

The optional premium upgrade is a one-time purchase that removes ads. There is no subscription. Payment is processed by Google Play Billing: Google handles the transaction and your payment details, and we do not receive your card number or billing address. The app receives confirmation that the purchase completed and the product identifier so it can unlock the premium state.

How we use information

We use the information described above to:

  • run the calculator and remember your settings;
  • show and measure ads, including asking for and honoring your consent choices;
  • understand which screens are used and improve the app;
  • diagnose crashes and fix stability problems;
  • process and restore the premium purchase;
  • prevent fraud and abuse, and comply with applicable law.

Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. The app shares data with Google as the provider of AdMob, Firebase Analytics, Firebase Crashlytics, and Google Play Billing, as described above. Google may act as our service provider or as an independent controller for some advertising and measurement purposes, depending on the service and your region; Google's own privacy policy explains its practices.

We may also disclose information if required by law, legal process, or a valid government request, or when necessary to protect our rights, users, or the public. We do not share your calculator values with anyone.

Retention and deletion

Your calculator values and preferences stay on your device until you clear the app's storage or uninstall the app. There is no account to delete and no developer-operated database holding your app data. Data processed by Google is retained according to Google's policies and the settings we configure for each service.

If you would like us to help with a deletion request, or if you have a question about data we may hold from correspondence with you, contact us at support@bluecoinsapp.com. For data held by Google, you can also use Google's privacy controls and account settings.

Security

The app's local data is protected by Android's app sandbox. Information sent to Google's services by the AdMob, Firebase, and Play Billing SDKs is transmitted over encrypted connections. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but we choose established Google SDKs and do not operate a separate server that stores your app data.

Children

Tip, Tax & Travel Calculator is a general-audience app and is not directed to children under 13 (or the higher minimum age that applies in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has used the app, you can remove the local data by clearing the app's storage or uninstalling it; you can also contact us and we will help with any request.

Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to the processing of your personal information, to data portability, to withdraw consent, and to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

  • Change ad consent. Open Settings → Ad privacy options in the app to revisit your advertising choices.
  • Reset or limit your Advertising ID. Use Android Settings → Google → Ads to reset or delete the ID and opt out of personalized advertising.
  • Remove local data. Clear the app's storage or uninstall the app.
  • Control device backups. Use Android's backup settings if you do not want app data included in a device backup.
  • Contact us. Email support@bluecoinsapp.com for a privacy request.

International transfers

Google processes data in the United States and other countries where it operates. Where required, Google uses legal safeguards for those transfers. You can find more information in Google's Privacy Policy.

About this website

This policy page is hosted on bluecoinsapp.com, the same website as our Bluecoins app. The site uses Google Analytics 4 and Vercel Web Analytics on every page, including this one; those website analytics are separate from the app and are described in the Bluecoins privacy policy. There are no ads on this policy page.

Changes to this policy

If the app's data practices change, we will update this policy and change the effective date above. Material changes will be reflected on this page. Continued use of the app after an update means the updated policy applies.
