Premium

Bluecoins is free with ads. Premium is a one-time purchase (not a subscription) that removes ads and unlocks several features. Reach it from the About section of the main settings list: open the app drawer, tap Settings, and use the Upgrade to Premium row (premium users see a Donate row instead).

A switch or button that needs Premium stays visible and opens the upgrade screen when you use it, so nothing is hidden from you — you can always see what upgrading would add.

What Premium unlocks

• No ads — the ad banner disappears from the settings screen and elsewhere in the app.
• Report export — export a report to PDF, Excel (.csv), or HTML, or send it straight to a printer. Exporting reports is the premium feature you are most likely to meet by accident, so see “Exporting reports” below for what stays free.
• Advanced chart options — the Advanced settings panel in a report’s filter dialog: chart type (bar or line), legend, values, vertical axis, and a fill-line chart.
• Future Projection — turns a report around to look forward instead of back, using your scheduled reminders and future-dated transactions. Available in the calendar, the balance sheet, account cards, and the reminders tab. See the calendar settings.
• Premium themes — Clean & Light, Forest Green, Misty Rose, Calming Beige, and Dark Knight in the theme picker.
• Online sync — backup and restore through Google Drive, Dropbox, or OneDrive, including automatic upload of transaction attachments. See the online sync settings.
• Push-notification and SMS auto-log — logging bank transactions from push notifications and SMS. See the notifications settings.
• More favorite accounts — up to 24 accounts on the favorite-accounts card, instead of 6.

Exporting reports

Report export is the premium feature you are most likely to meet by accident, because the export button is visible either way.

• Without Premium you can export from the Transactions and Reminders tabs on the home screen, and from a transactions list opened from a report. Exporting any other report opens the upgrade screen instead.
• With Premium every report exports: transactions, budget, balance sheet, net earnings, labels, payees, account and category timelines, and periodic (date-range) reports. See the import and export guide for what the export dialog offers.

What stays free

Free and Premium share the same filters. Accounts, categories, labels, status, amount, search, date ranges, and saved filters are all available without Premium — what the upgrade adds is the chart options and the projections described above, not more filter types. Your data is the same either way: Premium changes what you can do with reports, not what the app stores.

The upgrade screen

The Premium screen is the purchase UI: it loads the premium product and starts the Google Play billing flow, and the purchase completes inside Google Play. The About section of Settings shows Upgrade to Premium for standard users and Donate for premium users — so the entry point changes once you are premium, and the donate screen (“Treat your developer!”) is where premium users can support the developer with a donation.

If you cannot make the purchase

These problems are more common in countries where Google Play is restricted, or on devices with heavily modified Android ROMs where Google Play services are missing or outdated.

• Make sure Google Play Services is up to date — open the Play Store and check for updates.
• Use a VPN if you are in a country where Google Play is restricted.
• If the purchase flow will not launch, check that Google Play Services, Google Play Store, and Google Service Framework are allowed to run in the background and auto-start (some ROMs set these to “intelligent mode”, which blocks them). Also allow Bluecoins to read the list of apps on your device, then restart Bluecoins and try the upgrade again.

Practical tip

If you export reports, sync between devices, or want the dark AMOLED-friendly themes, Premium pays for itself — and because it is a one-time purchase, there is no recurring charge to remember to cancel. Everything else in the app keeps working without it, so there is no lock-in pressure.
