Maintenance
Repair data left by older versions of Bluecoins — entries with no status, and split transactions with a line still stuck in the trash.
Maintenance is where Bluecoins repairs data that older versions of the app left in a state the current version no longer creates. It is not a setting — everything in it is a one-time correction, and each repair only touches the entries it names.
The section only appears when there is something to fix. Open the app drawer, tap Settings, then Data Management: Maintenance sits below the import options, and each row names the repair and how many transactions it would fix.
Fix missing statuses
Every transaction carries a status — None, Cleared, Reconciled or Void. Entries written by early versions of Bluecoins sometimes have none at all, and those entries are left out of your balances.
What the repair does. It gives them the status None, so they are counted again. Nothing else about them changes — the amount, account, category and date stay exactly as they were.
What to expect. Your balances can change once, because money that was sitting outside the totals now counts. The row disappears afterwards.
Fix split transactions
A split transaction is one purchase divided across several categories. If you restored a split from the trash in an older version of Bluecoins, only the line you restored came back — the other lines stayed in the trash. That leaves the split half-restored: the amount in your transaction list, the day total and your account balance are short by the missing line, while the transaction itself and the CSV export still show the full amount.
What the repair does. It restores the lines that are still in the trash, so the list, the day total, the running balance and the CSV export all agree again.
Don’t empty the trash before you run it. The missing line has to still be there, because the repair restores it rather than recreating it. Emptying the trash first deletes it for good, and the transaction keeps the lower total.
What to expect. Your balances can change once, by the amounts those lines were missing. The row disappears afterwards.
Every repair backs up first
Both repairs write a copy of your database before they change anything, so there is a restore point either way:
- the copy goes to the backup folder you picked in Phone Storage, under
Backups/repair/; - if no backup folder is set, it lands in
Downloads/Bluecoins/repair/instead.
If that copy fails, the repair stops and nothing is changed. If a balance surprises you afterwards, restore that file from Phone Storage.
If nothing needs repairing
No rows appear — that is the normal state, and the whole section can be absent. Transactions you deleted yourself are not affected by either repair: they stay deleted.
