Guide
Filters
Narrow any transaction list or report — date range, accounts, categories, labels, status, amount, and search text — with row style, other settings, and the premium Advanced settings.
The filter dialog is the bottom sheet behind the filter button on a transaction list or a report. It lets you narrow what the list or chart shows — by date, account, category, label, status, amount, or text — without changing a single transaction.
You open the same dialog everywhere; what it offers depends on the screen you opened it from, so a chart report may show options a simple list does not. The Help button in the top-left of the dialog opens this guide.
Opening the filter
Tap the filter button on any transaction list or report to open the dialog. It starts from the view you are already looking at, and the buttons at the bottom decide what happens to your choices:
- OK applies the filter and returns to the list or report.
- Cancel closes the dialog and discards any changes.
At the top-right, three icons manage your filters:
- Reset clears every filter back to the default view.
- Save stores the current filter as a named preset you can reuse.
- Open lists your saved filters so you can apply, update, or delete one.
What you can filter
The dialog offers the filters the screen supports:
- Search text — matches the item name (payee or label) as you type.
- Amount from / Amount to — a minimum and maximum amount.
- Date range — a preset range such as This month, Last 90 days, or Next 12 months, or a custom start and end date.
- Frequency — groups a report by day, week, month, quarter, or year.
- Transaction type — All, Expense, Income, or Transfer.
- Category — one or more categories, or all.
- Account — one or more accounts, or all.
- Labels — one or more labels, or none.
- Status — None, Cleared, Reconciled, or Void. See the reconciliation guide for how statuses work.
Filter types are part of the free app: accounts, categories, labels, status, amount, search, date ranges, and saved filters are all available without Premium. See what Premium adds below.
Row style
A Row style section controls how each row of the report looks. It appears only on the screens that use report rows.
- Row style — Normal, Compact, or Minimal, from the dropdown.
- Enable icons — shows the category icon on each row.
- Unify transfer — merges the two legs of a transfer into a single row instead of showing an entry and an exit.
- Unify transfer zero total — with unify transfer on, hides transfers whose net effect is zero.
Other settings
Other settings groups the switches that change what a report includes or how it is drawn. The exact list depends on the screen; it can include:
- Show total — adds a total row or figure.
- Show transfers in total — counts transfers toward the total.
- New account transactions — includes entries dated in the future.
- Account balance — shows a running balance column.
- Oldest date first — reverses the sort order.
- Exclude zero amounts — hides rows whose amount is zero.
- Show currency — displays the currency on each amount.
- Hidden accounts — includes accounts you have hidden.
- Current balance only — shows just the latest balance.
- Vertical axis / Start at zero — controls the chart’s vertical axis.
- Show reconciled amount — adds the reconciled amount column.
- End of month balance — adds the projected end-of-month balance.
- Future Projection — turns the report around to look forward using your reminders and future-dated entries. This is a Premium feature.
- EACR — uses the Effective Average Conversion Rate for multi-currency reports.
Advanced settings
The Advanced settings button at the bottom of Other settings opens a panel of chart options for the report:
- Chart type — Bar or Line.
- Legend — show or hide the chart legend.
- Values — show or hide the values on the chart.
- Vertical axis — show or hide the vertical axis.
- Fill-line chart — fill the area under a line chart (available for the line type).
Advanced settings is a Premium feature. Without Premium, tapping it opens the upgrade screen instead, and the panel unlocks once you upgrade. Premium does not add more filter types — the filters above stay free — it adds these chart options and the projections. See the Premium page for everything the upgrade includes.
Saved filters
Once a filter is worth keeping, tap Save to store it under a name. Your saved filters then appear under Open, where you can apply one to the current screen, rename or update it, or delete it. Reset returns to the default view without touching your saved filters.
